Memorial Scholarships

schallorshipsDarian’s Gift is proud to offer annual scholarships in the names of Frida Salinas, Tyler McCormick and Lisa Harder to honor and remember these three brave young people.

Frida Salinas was an inspirational young woman who lost her battle with cancer in 2011 at the age of 17. Frida was a student at Sprague High School and would have graduated in 2013.

Tyler McCormick was a brave young man who lost his battle with cancer in 2011 at the age of 17. Tyler was a student at Sprague High School and would have graduated in 2012.

Lisa Harder attended West Salem High School and would have graduated in 2013. Lisa inspired her family and friends as she fought her cancer with grace and a positive attitude.

Frida, Tyler and Lisa were exceptional young people that made a positive impact on her school and community and inspired all that knew them while they battled this horrible disease.

Any Sprague High School and West Salem High School student registered and scheduled to graduate is eligible to apply.

Applications will be accepted through email at scholarship@dariansgift.org or physically
mailed to 4742 Liberty Rd SE #301, Salem, OR 97302. All applications must be received
either electronically or physically by January 31st, 2015.

At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted on your behalf to scholarship@dariansgift.org or physically mailed to 4742 Liberty Rd SE #301, Salem, OR 97302.
Please ensure that your full name and school are included with each letter. Letters must be received by January 31st, 2015.

Review process: The Darian’s Gift Scholarship Board will review applications and letters of recommendation. Finalists will be selected and interviewed. Two scholarships worth up to $1000 will be awarded in June at Sprague High School and one worth up to $1,000 will be awarded at West Salem High School. All awards are one-time only and will be sent directly to the educational institution.
